Some words can have a lot of different meanings depending on where you are.

Like "innovative".

It can mean beyond the cutting edge, because it's gotten a bit crowded there. It could mean opening your mind to a new approach after learning from professors that draw attention all over the world and becoming involved in what they do.

How about "creative"?

It can indicate an approach to life that isn't exactly traditional. Connected to life, connected to others, but being defined by what you do with that. It means being in a place that allows you the safety to be creative, and the resources to make it count.

There is also "entrepreneurial".

A self-starter. Motivated to achieve for the sake of achievement. Knowing you have resources like the UND Learning Center or the Writing Center. There's even Career Services so you're sure every accomplishment leads you to where you want to be.

And finally, there is "spirited".

This could mean passion. Grit. Drive. Excitement. Whether cheering on one of the sports teams or the launch of a research rocket, the emotional thrill of discovery at UND has a way of getting to you. Of course, this is only the start of how you can define what UND will mean to you.
