New Student Orientation

Great Choice!

You'll be so glad you chose UND! Get ready to have fun, make friends and start the future of your dreams.

Welcome. We'll be here to help you every step of the way.

Freshmen Getting Started

This is where you'll find your advisor, register for classes, and get familiar with the campus.

First week of classes
Please invite your family, together you'll learn about our classes and developmental opportunities, campus safety, housing options, meal plans, and the support services available to you on campus and in Grand Forks.

During Getting Started, UND orientation begins and course registration occurs. Additionally, families engage in meaningful conversation about their direct impact on the success of their student. Most students attend Getting Started with their families.

Transfer Student Getting Started

It's easy to make a seamless transition to UND. Transfer Student Getting Started is held on a Saturday in late March or early April.

Students at Involvement Expo
You'll register for classes early, meet with your academic advisor, learn about services, complete your placement exams and become familiar with campus. Only admitted students are allowed to participate in the Transfer Student Getting Started program, so apply early for admission. We also encourage you to participate in the Welcome Weekend before classes start in August.

Fall Welcome Weekend

Welcome Weekend is for all new students in the fall. You're expected to participate in this final step of your orientation before the semester begins.

Celebrating graduation
You can move into your residence hall, meet your neighbors, enjoy excellent programming (for families and students) and participate in the fun social activities that will settle you into your new campus home. Admitted students will get more information late in the summer.

Welcome Weekend 2009 dates are scheduled: August 21-24, 2009. Make plans to attend.

Spring New Student Orientation

This program offers students who start at UND in the spring semester, a chance to get information about classes, faculty and campus, and meet other new students. It's designed to help both incoming freshmen and transfer students make a successful transition to University life.

Spring New Student Orientation 2009 is scheduled for January 12th. Students admitted for the spring semester should make plans to attend this activity.
